Jason is from Finnish extraction, having been extracted from Finland before he was actually conceived, and is still known there as "Kuivaa tai kuole”, which loosely translated from the Lappi reindeer herder dialect means, "Use More Floatant”.

Jason prefers trout fishing above all else stating pretentiously, "It’s really the only kind of fly fishing that offers the variety of technique required to challenge both my acute mind, and my excellence at physical endeavors.” Jason cites his humbleness as his most endearing trait.
