Bio
Born and raised in East TN, Chris cut his teeth fishing in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park where he still likes to spend much of his personal fishing time. His biggest passion, after the Lord and his family, is chasing predatory cool/cold water fish. While the core of this passion is an obsession with trophy wild brown trout in the GSMNP and muskies on local freestones, it also drives him to spend a great deal of time and effort targeting all predators in the area. Aside from big browns in productive tailwaters and technical freestones, the area also boasts a strong population of native muskies on the southern edge of their range, a plethora of opportunities to chase native smallmouth bass, and even opportunities to catch landlocked stripers. Chris is also passionate about fishing for native brook trout and spending time in more remote and less pressured areas of the GSMNP.
When not fishing, Chris likes to spend his time at the vise tying anything that challenges him and pushes that skillset to the next level. He also enjoys spending time backpacking, hiking, and camping with his family.
Chris has a passion for instructing and enjoys helping people of all skill levels learn something new and improve their angling skillset. His specialties include fishing the GSMNP, streamer fishing, and tight-line/ Euro nymphing.
