Bio
Growing up In Northeast Iowa, I started fly fishing at the age of 10 on nearby farm ponds and spring creeks in the Iowa Driftless. My passion for fishing grew with each trip, with any books I could get my hands on, and at my vise, learning to tie flies. At the end of high school when it came time to choosing what was next in my life, I realized that nothing made me happier than being out on the water and chasing whatever lurked beneath the surface. The idea of becoming a guide was natural, and I chased that dream.
In 2009, I accepted a staff position at a lodge in Grand Lake Stream, Maine. While working at the lodge, I earned my guide license and ran walk/wade trips for smallmouth and landlocked AtlanticSalmon. Following Maine, I have guided for lodges and shops on waters in Montana, Idaho, Yellowstone National Park, Alaska, and internationally, in Chile, giving me the chance to guide and fish some of the most beautiful waters in the Americas. In 2013, I co-founded a guiding business in Northeast Iowa running walk wades and float trips on my home waters in the Iowa Driftless.
In 2010, I started exploring the Northwoods of Wisconsin with friends during the off season and found myself completely entranced by the region. Now, I’ve been fortunate enough to guide full time for Hayward Fly Fishing Co. of Northwest Wisconsin and live full time here. I’m overjoyed with coming back to the Midwest and rediscovering that same kid like wonder while working on the vast rivers and ecosystems in the area. I love sharing my passion for the sport, and hopefully can teach you some tips and tricks I have learned over the years to make your time on the water more enjoyable!
