Bio
Millie grew up mountain biking and rock climbing in Moab, Utah. She didn’t discover fly fishing until her mid-twenties when back surgery required that she slow things down a bit. "I thought that fly fishing would surely be the most mundane thing I would ever do outside but I needed something to do while my back healed. My first casting experiences were completely frustrating as were my first few years on the water but I loved it and hated it all at the same time."
Now a highly sought after fly fishing and casting instructor, Millie has worked at TroutHunter on the Henry’s Fork since they opened their doors in 1999. Over the years she has developed her own unique teaching style and enjoys working with women and kids. “I think fishing is a very female friendly sport but intimidating to enter because it is so male dominated. I love teaching women, giving them the skills and confidence they need to walk into a river because that’s where the magic happens, alone on the water.”
Millie has appeared in numerous fly fishing films and print publications. At present she is a Patagonia fly fishing ambassador and on the Hatch Pro staff . When not chasing saltwater quarry around the world, she resides on the Henry’s Fork in Last Chance, Idaho with her husband, Rich and daughter, Ella.
