Courtney
grew up fishing in Southern Wyoming and Summit County, Colorado. From an early
age he was chasing brookies in beaver ponds with his brother, which fueled his
passion to get into guiding in his 20’s. He calls The Upper North Platte Valley
home where he is the Head Guide and Streams Department Manager at the Old Baldy
Club. He guides on the Upper North Platte and the Encampment rivers. His other home waters are the powerful rivers
in Chilean Patagonia. During the winter months he guides at the Patagonian
Basecamp Lodge where he spends time behind the oars on the Rio Palena, Rio
Figueroa, Rio Pico, and Rio Rosselot to name a few. When he has the rare time
away from guiding he is often found fishing dries to rising fish, or casting a
two-hander for Steelhead and trout. Courtney also travels in the off-season to
chase Steelhead around the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia.
