Bio
I started fishing the upper Skagit River for Salmon and Steelhead when I was just a kid. I moved to Roy, a small town in Central Montana when I was 11 where I added Pike, Walleye, Catfish, Bass, and Pan fish to my repertoire. Upon graduation of high School in 2004 I moved to Dillon in southwestern Montana to attend the University of Montana Western. Here I started working in a local fly shop while going to school which sparked my love for chasing all species of trout. To this Date I have fished almost all the public waters Montana has to offer and have netted fish in cold, warm, and tropical waters.
I now call the Beaverhead, Ruby, and Big Hole rivers my home water although I spend as much time on the streams and mountain lakes that surround the area as I do on the big water. When the snow flies and I need a break from pulling fish out of a ten inch hole you can find me in Idaho, Washington, and Oregon chasing the Salmon run.
As much as I love to feel the tug on the end of my line I have found that I enjoy fishing even more when I am passing my knowledge on to others. Besides volunteering my time for the Hook a kid on Fishing not on Drugs, and Access Unlimited programs, I also teach fly casting and fly tying lessons both out of the Anderson and Platt shop and with the outreach program up on the UMW campus.
Most days you can now find me managing the shop at Anderson and Platt Outfitters and expressing my opinion to our customers that there is no finer rods on the market then the Scott Meridian and Radian. When I am not in the shop you can bet that I am out working the river banks enjoying our incredible surroundings with one in my hands. I am honored to be part of the Scott team.
