Born and raised near the Missouri River… in Missouri, Joe started out fishing with bait and gear for Bass and Bluegill at an early age. By 16 he had discovered fly fishing and trout and was rapidly evolving as an angler. The University of Colorado at Boulder helped bring him to the mountains and closer to the fishes and the lifestyle he had come to love. Upon graduating in 1990 with a degree in Environmental Conservation, he promptly moved to Breckenridge where he began his career as a professional guide.
 

Today Joe brings more than 20 years of both freshwater and saltwater angling and guiding experience to his fly shop and outfitting business, Montana Trout Stalkers, located in Ennis, Montana on the Madison River.
