In 2004, at the tender age of 18 he headed west, to West Yellowstone, Montana and started marketing his custom flies on the street corners, where he found many a happy customer. And soon his talent and determination caught the eye of some of West Yellowstone’s top fly shops. Where he has been guiding every May through September since. And is currently a Senior Guide for West Yellowstone Fly Shop. Spending his summers there he enjoys a diverse clientele and access to a variety of fishing opportunities.

 

While home in Washington he spends most of his time guiding on the beautiful rivers of the Pacific Northwest and Olympic Peninsula for Steelhead and Salmon, having grown up on these rivers he is able to use his knowledge and skills to offer a variety of successful techniques to his clients for those multiple fish days on the river.

 

As a Commercial Fly Tyer, Jared has spent years crafting his talent and skills. With a long list of loyal clientele.

 

In 2009 he added to his repertoire by successfully completing a comprehensive test for his CCI - Certified Casting Instructor awarded by the International Federation of Flyfishers.

 

When not on the water somewhere, or perfecting his latest creation at the bench he faithfully makes time for family and has not missed a fall hunting season with his father yet. They have enjoyed many years pursuing big game throughout the Pacific Northwest together.
