Bio

Justin Lawrence (aka Big Country) came to Northwest Montana in 1998.  With his dog and a whitewater canoe, Justin scoured the local waters.  He studied the cold, clear, glacial fed rivers and the intimacies of Northwest Montana's freestone streams.  When he felt ready, Justin went to Lakestream Fly Shop and asked the owner for a guide job.  The owner/outfitter refused to hire him, because Justin's time on the local waters did not seem sufficient.  The next year while working for another shop just down the street and during his first season guiding in Montana, Justin guided over 120 days… A lot for any ski town guide.

Justin is a hardworking, fun loving fisherman. As one of Montana’s busiest and most qualified guides, he works on all three forks of the Flathead, the Missouri, the Clark Fork, and the Blackfoot rivers. Anyone who has fished with Justin can't wait to do it again.  From fishing the G2 with tiny dries in the Bob Marshall Wilderness, to hopper fishing the Mo with a Radian, or putting the A4 to the test on the Flathead system, Justin has the correct Scott fly rod rigged and ready.

*Justin purchased Lakestream Fly Shop in 2014. He and his wife Kim live in Whitefish, Montana with their two daughters Mason and Maggie.
