Rene Vaz is one of New Zealand’s leading fly anglers having made the New Zealand Fly Fishing team at age 19, Rene went one to represent his country for 5 years and finished this time as New Zealand champion in 2000. Since this time Rene has immersed himself in the tackle industry and has over the last ten years worked with a number of NZ’s and the worlds leading tackle brands. Today Rene runs his own tackle distribution company in New Zealand looking after Scott fly rods along with a number of other leading brands. Rene continues to write and photograph for a number of international fishing journals and writes for and edits his own online magazine www.flyfishersinc.com . Rene is an qualified STANIC single hand and Spey casting instructor from the UK and holds the US FFF CI instructors certification.
