Bio
Moose spends countless hours on the water—fresh and salt. He is a year round, full time fishing guide and captain working with Eleven Angling. He’s based out of Gunnison, CO and has lots of fishing options in every direction.
Eleven Angling keeps him busy with fishing lodges around the globe. Moose is often in Colorado, Florida, Iceland, or Chile. Often he’s busy guiding, but sometimes he’s got his sleeves rolled up and washing dishes at midnight while guests are dreaming of tomorrow’s fishing… it’s just part of the job.
He started guiding in the trout world in 1998. Now, with 20 years of experience in the flyfishing, wingshooting, waterfowling, and big game scene, Moose really has a wealth of knowledge to pass on to clients and guests. He places a strong emphasis on instruction, and teaches/fishes a variety of techniques to keep anglers from getting stale.
Moose spent quite a few years handling duties at the Scott Fly Rod Co. You may remember the days when he was answering the phone, or attending trade shows around the country. After working sales and technical services for about 6 years, he’s been back on the water full time with a quiver full of Scott rods. He likes to put the rods to work in a number of different fisheries and really push prototypes to the limit.
He guides on foot, raft, dory, skiff, powerboat, and jet boat depending on location, and conditions. Moose loves to sight fish all species that will eat a fly, and you’ll understand that passion as soon as you fish with him!
Summer days find him floating the Gunnison River and putting his Scott Rods through the paces. Also, you’ll find him fishing a lot of switch rods and smaller sized 2 handers. He loves to swing flies, and finds a lot of success when the indicator crowd is chasing the bobber around.
His favorite rods are the R905/4 and GS905/4.
