Fishing has always been in the blood of Ron while growing up in Wyoming. In the early 80's as a youngster the fly fishing bug bit and Ron put away everything in favor of fly rods and started chasing trout around Wyoming. Ron attended the University of Wyoming and graduated in 1995 with BS in Business Admin/Geography and then went back via the web in 2005 to get his MBA. While in undergraduate studies, Ron moonlighted as a commercial tier to drum up enough money to buy equipment and "beverages" so he became pretty proficient at tying bugs that trout in the Platte River seemed to cherish. After graduation Ron found himself back at the foot of the Wind River Mountains in the family business of retail (Wind River Outdoor Company) and ranching. Recently, Ron relocated the guide service out to a stand-alone company called Wind River Troutfitters and is now the only Wyoming permitted outfitter on the Green River/Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge. The thrill of chasing trout - particularly native Cutts - is what drives Ron and he tries to get out as much as possible when not working with clients, working on the family ranch or chasing down his active family. One thing is for sure, if you like hanging with guys that like talking trout then Ron is the guy you want to be around. When he doesn't have a fly rod in his hand and all the other daily activities allow him to get away you can find him chasing birds with his dog or finding that perfect photo op around west-central Wyoming. When in the Lander, WY area stop by Wind River Outdoor Company as you will probably find Ron working with clients and getting them outfitted to chase down the native trout of Wyoming!
